Abyss Safari is ready to take you diving no matter what your experience level, beginner to technical.
The best dive sites in the Bay of Plenty provide the opportunity to see a vast diversity of marine life over the surrounding reefs and offshore islands.
At Mayor Island, there is an extensive, well established marine reserve with plentiful life and clear waters that rival those of the Poor Knights Islands. Seals live on the shoreline and being naturally curious often join divers for an underwater experience never to be forgotten.
The New Zealand coastline has a variety of wrecks to dive on. One of these is a steam-powered tugboat, fully intact and sitting upright in 27 metres of sheltered water. The 'Taioma' was prepared and sunk by the Taioma Society (Tauranga) to provide fantastic diving experiences only a short ride away from Tauranga.
“Enterprise” is our historic 60’ dive charter boat, with a spacious, enclosed dive deck, 18cfm compressor for quick on-board air fills, a hot shower, toilet facilities and a 12’ tender boat for in-water diver pick-ups.
We have fully trained dive crew aboard, including PADI and SSI divemasters and instructors. Liveaboard weekends to gain advanced diver ratings with both PADI and SSI are available.
Full equipment hire can be arranged from our preferred partner Earth2Ocean.
