Charter Terms & Conditions
Bookings:
Provisional bookings will be accepted by telephone and will normally be held for 5 working days (but less if made within two weeks of the commencement of the charter). Bookings are secured by the customer paying a deposit of 10% of the Charter Fee and will only be confirmed when the deposit is received in full and the funds have cleared.

Payment:
A deposit of 10% of the Charter Fee is required to secure the charter. The balance of the Charter Fee must be paid in full no later than 48 hours prior to the start of the charter, unless alternative arrangements have been made and approved by Abyss Safari Charters Ltd. Unless alternative arrangements have been agreed in advance, failure to pay the balance of the Charter Fee on time will constitute cancellation of the charter by the customer.

Method of Payment:
We prefer payment by direct credit to our bank account. Customers with a New Zealand bank account may pay by personal or bank cheque made payable to Abyss Safari Charters Ltd, however cheques must be received in time for funds to clear at least 48 hours prior to the charter start date.

Cancellation by the Customer:
Notice of cancellation must be received in writing. Once your booking has been confirmed and if cancellation occurs 48 hours or more before the charter start date a cancellation fee of 10% of the Charter Fee will apply. This amount is non-refundable, however if the charter is re-scheduled it will be credited to the new booking. If cancellation occurs within 48 hours of the charter start date the 10% cancellation fee is non-refundable and will not be credited against any new booking.

Cancellation by Abyss Safari Charters Ltd:
Should it be necessary for Abyss Safari Charters Ltd or the skipper to cancel the charter for technical reasons or due to adverse weather or sea conditions or to minimise risks to the health and safety of passengers and crew and/or to preserve the integrity of the chartered vessel, an alternative booking or full refund will be offered. Cancellation for these reasons is based entirely on the professional judgement of Abyss Safari Charters Ltd or the skipper. The customer agrees to render Abyss Safari Charters Ltd and it's owners, employees, contractors and authorised representatives free from any claims or liability for costs incurred that are directly or indirectly associated with such cancellations.
